Help Keep Sailing Accessible for Every Kid
Even at full tuition, SailJH operates at a deficit. Your support makes this program possible.

The Reality Behind the Program
SailJH is intentionally designed to be small, safe, and high-quality. Each session serves just six students with two instructors on the water.
This model creates an incredible experience—but it also means our operating costs exceed what tuition alone can cover.

What It Actually Costs
Per week of programming:
Instructor wages: $4,000
Boat lease + maintenance: $1,200
Permits, insurance, and overhead: $1200
Transportation and fuel: $500
Total weekly cost: ~$6,900
With 6 students paying full tuition ($800):
-
Total revenue: $4,800
Operating deficit per week: ~$2,100
That gap exists before we offer any scholarships.

Where Your Donation Goes
Your support doesn’t just “help”—it directly funds access and keeps the program running.
-
$50 → Covers daily transportation into the park
-
$150 → Provides safety equipment and gear for one student
-
$400 → Funds half a scholarship
-
$800 → Sends one student to a full week of sailing
-
$2,100 → Covers the weekly operating deficit

SailJH is committed to making sailing accessible, regardless of financial background.
Donations allow us to:
-
Offer scholarships
-
Keep class sizes small and safe
-
Maintain high-quality instruction
-
Continue operating despite structural costs
If you believe in this mission, we ask you to contribute at whatever level feels right.

Why This Matters
Many kids in our community don’t have access to meaningful outdoor experiences in Grand Teton National Park.
Sailing teaches confidence, teamwork, and resilience—but more importantly, it creates a lasting connection to the natural world.
Your support helps make that experience possible.
This program doesn’t exist without support.
Help us keep SailJH on the water.
